Abies concolor it's high, fast growing tree, with narrow, conical crown, which expands with age. It reaches a height of 20-25 (40) m. and width 7-9 (10) m. The average annual growth is 35 cm. in height and 15 cm. in width. The leaves are soft needles with a gray to blue-green color. Unlike other firs, the coneflower copes well with the heat. It does not grow well on waterlogged soils. It is highly cold-resistant and tolerates atmospheric pollution well.
