Buddleia, also known as Summer Lilac or Butterfly Bush, is an unpretentious, fast-growing shrub, prized above all for its profuse and long flowering throughout the summer – from June to September. Cold resistant to -40, some gardeners prefer to prune the new growth of the spade above the rhizome each late fall, to stimulate even more vigorous growth and flowering the following year. It grows and blooms much better in full sun. Regular and timely removal of overblooming flowers stimulates the appearance of new ones until the first frosts in autumn. Suitable for single accents, group planting or for hedges.
