Himalayan Cedar (Deodara cedar) is a type of cedar tree, specific to the western Himalayas. It is an evergreen coniferous tree, which reaches to 45 m height and has up to 3 m stem diameter. Its crown is conical in the first years of growth, becoming increasingly branched as it ages. Branches grow horizontally. Cedar is very durable. It withstands temperatures up to -35ºС without causing any damage to it. Cedar is light-loving and drought-resistant, as it is not demanding on soil nutrition. This makes it preferred for landscaping in courtyard gardens, houses, cottages, for landscaping parks and representative green areas.
