Cypress Leylandi,

Cupressocyparis leylandii, 70 cm.

It is a fast growing evergreen coniferous tree, which is used for landscaping, mainly for building tall hedges. Leilandi likes sunny places and is resistant to strong winds and urban pollution. It can grow on any soil and even in poor soils it grows to approx 15 m height. It grows faster than any other conifer. Apart from the rapid growth, another very important quality of Leylandi is, that it tolerates pruning very well and with them a very dense and smooth evergreen crown surface is formed. This makes it one of the most preferred and used plants for hedges and topiary forms.
