Lying down, groundcover shrub, almost clinging to the ground and partially rooting. It develops in one plane rising only on 20-30 cm high and spreading laterally to a distance 1,5 meters. Dark green leathery leaves , resembling evergreens and not falling off for a long time.

The bush is drought resistant, winters under the snow without freezing. Grows well on slightly stony, poor and sandy soil. Prefers sunny places, but tolerates light shade well. Fast-growing. Indispensable for strengthening slopes, and cascading(terraced) landscaping.
