Rose 'Burgund 81'
Tea-hybrid variety selection of Kordes. ‘Burgundy (R) 81’ is one of the most beautiful red roses, ever created. Its large flowers have long, strong stems and have an elegant shape. Well executed, bright blood-red flowers with a velvety sheen open from almost black-red buds and spread a gentle, elegant rose scent. The densely growing foliage, which often sprouts as early as March, it is initially reddish, and later turns dark green. (Bot.) Rosa 'Burgundy (R) 81’ blooms more often in summer and autumn and has good winter hardiness. Prefers a sunny to partially shaded place and deep, humus-rich soil. In small groups, beds or borders, as well as in pots, the noble rose 'Burgundy (R) 81’ grows upright, compact and densely branched.
The noble rose 'Burgundy (R) 81′ dates from 1981 Mr. and was bred by W. Kordes' sons. They gather on a larger area 5 – 7 plants per square meter.
As a background, low ornamental grasses and tall perennials such as delphinium are suitable. In fall, the leaves of this easy-care, deep-rooted plant turn yellow and eventually drop. Because of its strong long stems with large, weather resistant individual flowers, Rosa 'Burgundy (R) 81’ is perfect for a cut color. The diameter of the color is from 11 to 12 cm, and flowering lasts from June to November. The proud rose 'Burgundy (R) 81’ is a queen among roses and impresses with its majestic appearance as in the garden, as well as on the terrace and balcony.
