Ruelia, (Ruellia)

The length of the stems of the different species reaches up to 60 cm. The leaves of the flower are especially beautiful. They have been around for a long time 7 cm. elliptical in shape, dark green with a slight crimson tinge and brightly colored silver veins. При Ruellia macrantha, the leaves are larger and not veined, and the flowers are bell-shaped purple. The delicate flowers are tubular around 4 cm., cyclamen in color and with very short flowering - only a few days in autumn from August to November. The stalks of the rouelle need support, otherwise they will lie down. They are suitable for hanging baskets.

One of the most important requirements of the ruella is the place, where it is grown, to be semi-shaded. The plant does not tolerate direct sunlight.
