Sesleria is a wheatgrass family Poaceae, naturally distributed in some parts of Bulgaria - Central Stara Planina, Middle Rhodopes and Tundzhan hilly area, where it grows at an altitude of 0 to 1000 m. It reaches a height of 30-40 cm. and up to a meter wide, they still call her Meadow grass. It is evergreen, its leaves are green below and slightly bluish in color above. Its colors are interesting and attractive, which are compact small spikes with a dark purple to black color. This plant is completely cold-resistant for our weather conditions. Decorative and evergreen, it will decorate the garden with its colors all year round. Flowering takes place from March to April in the lower parts of the country. But it is purely formal and does not have high decorative qualities, that make it something substantial. Sesleria is good to grow in a sunny place ,but it can also be sown in partial shade. It can be said, that it is quite undemanding and unpretentious to grow, it does not suffer from diseases or pests. It is often used in compositions with grasses or flowers, as a ground cover plant, in rock gardens in sunny places, where watering is few. She is little known, but definitely a beautiful and charming groundcover ornamental grass with a perspective in landscaping and landscape architecture due to the plant's resilience.
