Yew is an evergreen coniferous tree, which can be easily grown in all regions of Bulgaria. It is a perennial plant, which does not require special care and is widely used for decorative purposes, as in private gardens, as well as in public parks. It prefers shadier places and is ideal for decorating flower beds and paths. Some parts of yew are slightly poisonous, and the seeds highly poisonous. That is, it is not recommended for people with greedy pets. It reaches a height of 20 meters, but can always be controlled by cutting. It is an ancient plant, because it can live up to 4000 years.
