Thuja Golden Emerald is a variety of the popular Thuja Smaragd, got its name because of the specific golden color of the leaves. It grows quite fast – about 30cm. height per year. It is popular because of its fresh and attractive color, which keeps throughout the year, as well as the pleasant texture of the leaves. Due to the natural way of shaping, in most cases pruning is only needed at the top, upon reaching the desired height, if used for hedges. It needs sun to develop well, fertile and well-drained soil and regular watering in the first few years of its life. Once it acclimatizes to the new location and develops a good root system, it does not need as much care with watering. Extremely suitable for forming high hedges. It looks great in the garden as a single plant or hedge.
