Lavzon's false cypress Elvodi (Chamaecyparis Lawsoniana Elwoodii)
Elvodi false cypress is a very common species. It is very adaptable to different weather conditions and soils and is therefore preferred for the garden.
It most closely resembles the distant relative of the false cypress - the common cypress or the so-called cypress. Mediterranean cypress. Elvodi has the same drained form, resembling a more rounded candle, with tiny needles. The difference is that the main color of Elvodi is blue-green, while cypress is dark green. Elvodi rarely reaches a height above 3 m. (and it is not appropriate to let it grow any further) and width approx. 80 cm, unlike cypresses, which freely growing can reach tens of meters in height. Another major difference is of course, that Elvodi survives in sub-zero temperatures, while for Mediterranean cypresses this is difficult.
Lawzon's false cypress Elvodi is relatively slow growing for a false cypress - genus, which is considered one of the fastest growing ornamental conifers. Likes to be in a sunny place, as well as moist ones, well-drained soils.
