Роза ‘Queen of England’
Rose Queen Elizabeth is the first Grandiflora rose, which is a cross between a hybrid tea rose and rose floribunda. Grandiflora roses combine long, tall, upright stems of hybrid tea roses with the multi-flowered clusters of Floribunda roses. Rose Queen Elizabeth has pink flowers and dark green, shiny, almost leathery foliage. It blooms repeatedly in summer and early autumn.
Roses have the reputation, that they require a lot of care and are picky to grow. Not this one – the Queen Elizabeth rose is relatively easy to grow, hardy and disease resistant, making it a popular choice especially for beginners in rose breeding. But since it is a bushy plant, which reaches 180cm or more in height, it requires space and is best planted at the back of a flower bed or as a screen.
The Queen Elizabeth rose should be planted in early to mid fall, so that the roots have time to grow and establish, before the plant enters dormancy.
